ridge cucumber

I have 3 ridge cues in my polytunnel that are producing lots of fruit, but 2/3rds of them I have to throw away because they are bitter. A friend also has some outside that are the same.
There are no other cucumber varieties in the tunnel.
I thought ridge cues didn't have this problem which is why I grew them. I water every day and the plants do not appear to be stressed.
What am I doing wrong?

I have just encountered the same problem with my green house cucs! My previous harvest from the same plants were delicious. I'm sonerding if it happens the day after harvest, as they seem to be fine immediately after harvest.....

I will be watching with interest.
