            But but but.....

            When I did the tomato trial; more moon seedlings made it than the non-moons...which is why I'm trying a blind trial [this being it].....as there were accusations that I had been preferable to the moons than the non moons [even though they were all in separate pots all in one tray but hey ho].

            I get asked by PM to post my trials on here; so I do.

            Anyone is free to try them; but nobody is being forced.

            I don't understand it, but it seems to have an effect; it's about the way the water seeps up and down the plant as much as how it behaves in the soil.

            If I could explain it; then I wouldn't do trials

                Which scientific/horticultural body are you submitting your results to zazen?

                    Hello!

                    I am a new user to this forum, but have been reading this thread with interest this evening. I am interested in joining in with the trial

                    I live in a 2nd floor flat and have been using my balcony as my growing area, so am growing in pots/containers. Will it matter that I do not have a green house? Also do the seeds need to be planted at the same time on the days? Eg - 5pm everyday?

                    When it comes to planting them out I will have to place them in window boxes or large containers, unless the little part of my mum's garden has been cleared ready for next year. Will this be okay?

                    I bought some onion sets today but will also buy some seeds. How deep should the module trays be?

                    Sorry for all the questions hehe, only got the growing bug in the last few week

                    The loud wind never reached the ship,
                    Yet now the ship moved on !
                    Beneath the lightning and the Moon
                    The dead men gave a groan.

                    They groaned, they stirred, they all uprose,
                    Nor spake, nor moved their eyes ;
                    It had been strange, even in a dream,
                    To have seen those dead men rise.

                      Andrea, would have loved to take part in this but am going to be away for 12 days in Sept, so unfortunately I can't do it this year.

                      And when your back stops aching,
                      And your hands begin to harden.
                      You will find yourself a partner,
                      In the glory of the garden.

I also bought a packet of Hi Keeper F1 onion seed but there are not enough of these to do the trial quantities (didn't have time to search for another packet). Bought the seeds in Wyevale's 50p sale!! so it won't matter too much if they fail

                          I am really looking forward to taking part in this Andrea
                          I bought some of these - Franchi ones - for the trial.

                            Zazen, how does this whole trial work, if you dont mind me asking? I bought some onion seeds the other day and more cell trays.

                            I am away next friday and saturday but I have asked my mum to take over on those 2 days

                                someone say cynic?
                                good luck with the trial, though just how unaware of moon dates are you? strikes me as a very difficult thing to "unremember"
                                i was going to do a blind experiment but am just too busy and a bit transatlantic at the mo'
                                but for a truly blind experiment design if you fancy doing one is what i was going to do;

                                i)in each module put a non-biodegradable scrap saying what date it was sowed on

                                ii)get other half to shuffle modules

                                then you have absolutely no bias whatsoever
                                just a thought
                                good luck with trials
