This is the first year I've grown spaghetti squash and they are currently the size of rugby balls. Any hints when to harvest and cook?

I'm no expert as this is only my second year but I did grow them last year and they were about rugby ball size when I picked them and they were lovely. I roasted them in the oven for about 30 - 40 mins then scooped out the middle and served with a knob of butter and black pepper - yummy!

Oven roasted them last night - a taste between pumpkin and squash. Not bad but I think I need to leave them on the plant a little longer to ripen more as they where still a green. Taste was improved with the addition of chilli and cheddar. Our chucks certainly enjoed picking over the remaining skins.
Not sure if they should turn orange when ripe but probably depends on variety?

All the ones I've grown turn yellow when ripe.
Before then the flesh is more marrow like and will not seperate into strands
Also they need to be fully ripe then 'cured' by leaving out in the sun for several days after cutting if you want to store them - they store well, up to Easter
I think they are well worth the space, easy to grow and very productive.
I like mine with pesto!
