  • Who said you needed two??????

    Tomatillo plants that is!

I had about six plants I had grown from seed. Planted one in the greenhouse in a large pot and one outdoors. Gave the rest away, then read that you needed to grow them together cos they weren't self fertile...........in fact wasn't sure whether there was seperate male and female plants (maujana springs to mind).

Anyways...........plant is about 4 foot high now and up til now has only had male flowers, but low and behold I've just spotted some green paper lanterns on it!

Will I get fruit do you think?

    yup.
I've got three outside, and they're doing a take-over-the-world bit.
Not sure if the presence of tomato pollen has anything to do with that. This opinion is only my own and fuelled by copious amounts of alcohol
