Peppers again

I have some chilli and sweet pepper plants -

3 doing OK, with flowers.

2 are looking very eaten - holes in the leaves and drooping (cannot find any bugs or flies on them).

3 with brown patches on the leaves, also leaves drooping a little (these are in a big but shallow container).

1 'bearing up' with flowers but yet leaves are drooping and top leaves curling over (no bugs or flies on them).

2 more a bit down looking, with flowers starting.

I've spent the past week trying with the Search facility to find posts that might cover some of these problems. I've come across many posts about chillies and peppers but none seem to fit my plants. I've even gone through the Vegging Out section, page by page for about 7 pages.

I mention the Search because I feel a bit foolish asking on a new thread,
but I'd appreciate any guidance please.

But be warned that the solutions offered included not enough water, too much water, root bound, pots too large... More agreement around soil temperatures and compacted soil.... So one of those or a combination (or something else entirely). Strangely my chillies, peppers and aubergines this year have been infested several times with bugs partic greenfly that I've fought off with increasing despair but so far the fruit itself doesn't seem to have been too adversely affected (presumably smaller than it would otherwise be). I'm not sure if it's helped but they're all in one of those self-watering gadgets which keeps them at a constant lightly damp. Not pretty to look at but quite productive, strange. Hope yours pull through OK. b.

Bazzaboy, sorry about no pics, but I don't know how to post them.

Especially good to hear about the chillies and peppers thriving and fruiting despite the infestations - most of all, I feel a bit less foolish that I haven't been able to keep the plants at peak condition - your links and the Pests and Diseases section have shown me I'm in good company!
