giant marrows

Hope someone can help me, my friend at my allotment grows giant marrows for showing,he has grown them for some years and gets new seeds every year. Over the last two days the leaves have wilted,the stems are alright but it looks very sick,they have been well looked after,well watered and well fed but still not growing
hope there is another expert out there

As he's an experienced grower, I doubt his care is at fault. Anyone else on the site who shows marrows? It's a horrible thought, but maybe a rival has sabotaged his plants?

No I don't think that is the problem,one other plot holder grows marrows,two of his died the same way six weeks ago there is no amnimosityat all,in fact the experienced grow is helping him.

Sounds like a fungus attack on the roots or stems. Has it been very wet in your location...?

Could be curtains i'm fraid.
