  • Pumpkins started turning orange!

that's it really....down in the veggie garden this afternoon and noticed one of the pumkins had started turning orange! Now that's exciting....

and if that isn't exciting enough.....was then in the GH and one of my melons (!!) was ripe! I know cos the skin had started to split! (pretty poor gardener that i didnt notice eh??)

(haven't tasted it yet and no-one home and wanted to bore, oops I mean "share", this lovely piece of news with my family.................)

Oh, I'm jealous! The one melon that I managed to set on my plant fell off the other day, having not grown more than a couple of millimetres I am not teying next year - 3 years of going wrong is enough, and I can fit more cucumbers in instead

Yes well done, I have also tried melons in the past but without much success. A bit like the aubergines really. Still we need to keep on trying and hopefully eventually crack the code. I always found with melons I could get one fruit to set but then that was it.

Ate my melon for breakfast!! It was the best! Couldn't convince daughter to try some.....but all the more for me so no complaints there!

I didn't find it took up much space as I just let it trail all over the GH floor...deffo trying again....and just noticed a wee one on the other plant too....sooo excited!

Having said all that, it was only about 5 inches in diameter but like to try new things
