My spuds are a bit scabbly (Limey soil here), but I boil them in their skins and then peel the skins off with my fingers. The scabs come off easily then. I hate peeling raw spuds.

Lifted my Romano and Picasso yesterday. Some of them have scabs but it can't be due to lime since we are on acid soil here. Any other cause of this, does anyone know?

mine definitely can't be caused by lime cos they're grown in containers filled solely with MPC
