I had to pull up my first blighted plant yesterday so I feel your pain. I am just hoping I got it out and disposed of early enough to spare the others. I'm not convinced though. I've also lost all my toms the last two years so don't think I can bear to lose them all again. I planted in early February in the hope of getting a crop before blight hit but looks like it wasn't early enough.
Next years will be planted at christmas!

I saved myself the pain, and didn't grow outdoor toms this year

        Now me.

I've just come in from the Garden, all my potato plants which are in tubs are infected, my outdoor toms appear to be ok for now, but it wont be long and most shocking is that my Greenhouse toms have the brown patches as well, they are no way near ripening yet, and now I wonder if I will get anything from then. Had a lot of chopping back to do.

I have cut off and dumped all potato foliage, now just need to fill up the household rubbish bin so the Bin men dont notice it all.

        So glum now.

I had the depressing task this morning of pulling up my outdoor tomatoes and cutting back all foliage on the potatoes. I was not happy! I'm not so bothered about my toms as these were overflows from the greenhouse (and these plants seem quite happy) but I'm distraught about the pots as I'd hoped these would see us through almost to the earlies of next year, but alas it is not to be. The annoying this is that potatoes will go up in price because everyone will have the same problems I guess. I'm going to dig up and freeze any that aren't affected, but obviously these will only really be good for soups and stews, not baking, boiling, roasting or chipping.
It's very sad and it makes me think 'why bother' about all the ground prep I put in. This is the 3rd year for me also.
