I've been lifting my garlic over the last couple of weeks as it seems ready. I've had a couple (out of about 25 lifted so far) that appear to have a touch of white rot. One I had to bin (when I tried to eat it a couple of weeks after lifting), the other I've skinned and kept the cloves (all healthy looking) for immediate consumption.
So, my question is are there other less serious fungal diseases that might cause these symptoms? The two bulbs were both, arguably, in the ground too long and a loss rate of 1 in 25 I can cope with. They haven't obviously had any problems in growing.
