Well rotted horse manure..FREE!

We were lucky to link up with a local farmer just over a year ago and he bought us 20 ton of cow manure for free and there is another 20 coming this autumn. There are only 25 lotties here so every plot is well manured. will have to be a bit more selective on where I put it this year though as it caused eel worm in my spuds this year. Still can always pile it high to rot down a bit more.

I am going to ring round the stables and see if I can get some here. The notice at lottie shop has a phone number for the s**t man ( not my words ) I think its about £40 a ton delivered.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak

I managed to get hold of some horse manure via Freecycle a couple of years ago. A local stable were trying to get rid of loads. It was all fresh so needed to rot down. I had first refusal, and she then bought a trailer full of the stuff for the rest of the alootment.
She said that they'd love to get rid of it via the allotment on a regular basis, but I haven't seen or heard from them since.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/
