  • What I plan to plant this season

Well, I have been going through my seeds (and may have some to give away, will get back to you on that one in another post) and planning how many of each and what to plant. So, here's my lowdown on the plants I'm going for this year (would be interested in comparing with anyone else if they are growing the same). Big fanfare, it's:

    Andrew's amazing filling garden rota.

    PEPPERS
    Habanero
    Thai Hot
    Chilli Pepper
    (All in a small greenhouse)

COURGETTES in buckets (mix of manure and compost)
    Zucchini and Rond

Pumpkin F1 Hybrid (any ideas if I can grow this in a pot?)

    Celeriac

Sweetcorn, mixed in with Fennel herb, verbena, nicotiana, cosmos and chicory to create a screen (don't know if this will work but will be an interesting premise).

    CARROTS in window boxes
    Paris Market and Early scarlet

    BEANS IN BARRELS
    Blauhilde (climber)
Cobra (given by a generous Grape)
    Sultana
    Borlotti
    Grown with SUNFLOWERS and NASTURTIUMS

    PEAS
    Canoe
    Fortune
    Half Pint for wall pots

    RADISH
    Gaudry

    MY 2006 TOMATO TRIAL
    Federle
    Basinga
    Idli
    Russian Black
    Green Grape
    Gardeners Delight
    Harbinger
    St Pierre
    Tigerella

    LETTUCE
Own mix for pots, including mixed salad, mizuna, oriental, can can.

    TAGETES for the Tomatoes

    DAHLIA
    Heirloom
    Pompone

    POTATO
Yet to decide, more than likely, Cara.

And that concludes this long planting list for such a small garden. If anyone has any ideas, let me know - if anyone has grown any of these, would be interested in your thoughts.

Sounds good Andrew. Even tho the container garden is normally smaller than a bed system, it always looks much pretier. I closed my eyes after reading your description and imagined what it would look like in summer, gorgeous! When I have some experience I will be planting a few choice things on my deck.

        AndrewO's chillies

I have just re-read the post that chillies are perennials - b*gger, I dug mine up at the end of the season. What are the Thai one's like that you have planned this year?

            Thai Hot

Don't know about these, these are new to me but will let you know. Got them from Simply Vegetables (Plants of Distinction).
