We grew some 2 yrs ago and they were utterly tasteless. I understand there were many more varieties available this year- hopefully there should be more posts on their success soon??
Try searching for it on the above titles-should be on one of my replies too ( sorry would look it up for you butgot guests to sort out as we speak!!)

Never grown any of the Sarpo varieties. But I do grow Piccasso & I have grown Ambo both of which are supposed to have some blight resistance. They are OK I dropped the Ambo this year to try something else as they are similar looking to Picasso and I like to grow a white & a red if I can. To the best of my knowledge they aren't GM as the Sarpo one you can get thru Garden Organic (HDRA) and I know they wouldn't sell anything that was GM

None of my pots have ever suffered from blight....terracotta, plastic, metal etc etc
Seriously though the following are all supposed to offer some kind of resistance to the 2 types of blight:
FOLIAGE BLIGHT:ORLA, PREMIERE, Cosmos, Nadine, Cara, Golden Wonder, Kerrs Pink, Kondor, Lady Balfour, Pentland Dell, Pentland Squire, Romano, Santé, Verity
TUBER BLIGHT:COLLEEN, ORLA, Cosmos, Nicola, Cara, Golden Wonder, Kondor, Lady Balfour, Picasso, Record, Santé, Valor
The main breakthrough is the Sarpo varieties from Hungary......try web search for latest info / opinion.
