Charlottes spuds - 2nd early. I've been digging them for ages, just lifted the last, and the later haulms always have a few big enough for chips. Big New Potato Chips are just the best thing!
Also french beans. I like them fresh but, like Two Sheds, I love shellies too and put them in the freezer like that now rather than dry them for winter.
Lastly it's got to be greenhouse toms. I never tire of the varieties and flavour and colours you can get. I REALLY love the little mahogany coloured Black Cherry, the big Brandywine beefsteaks, stripey Tigerella and Green Zebra, loads more.

Potatoes - nothing better than a tattie straight out of the ground, quick wash, then steamed. Maybe a dab of butter.

Blueberries - just leave them be and they reward you with loads of delicious berries (this weekend more blueberry and choc chip muffins)

Achocha (I know it's only my first year of growing) they are delish! Plus they need very little care. Delish roasted with peppers, toms, and garlic. Phwoar.

Chocolate Sweet Peppers - easy, tasty and ripen really fast. This year no pests or diseases (touch wood rest of the crop remain the same way).

My favourite things would be tomatoes, chillies and climbing french beans. Although next year I think I'll grow less cherry tomatoes, as only Mr J eats them, and more plum tomatoes so I can make sauces. We did potatoes for the first time this year and they were pretty special too, my 3 year old thought it was great fun digging them up! Looking forward to trying some more varieties next year as we only did the one type this year.

Asparagus - we had some shop bought today, what a disappointment compared to our own straight from the garden.
Sweetcorn - straight from the plant, amazing.
Broccoli/Calabrese/Kale - again straight from the garden the taste is incredible, completely different to the stuff you can buy.
Tomatoes - fresh off the plant.
Can you see a pattern emerging?! I guess anything, picked and eaten immediately!

Not sure I have a favourite yet as there's still loads to try but I definitely love french/runner beans, courgettes, chillies and toms. Will be trying new varieties next year.
Also love carrots although I have to battle with the slugs and snails for them. They seem to have eaten 3 whole tubs of them:-(
Still need to wait a while for my red cabbage, sprouts and parsnips as I am growing them for the first time so they could be added to the list.

Cabbages and courgettes, you can see from the photos I just do well with them and the taste is fantastic.
You don't have to spend loads of money on fancy seed varieties either.
Any 50p packet will do and I promise you will not buy better cabbages and courgettes than the ones picked from your garden.

This year it`s florence fennel which I`ve never managed to grow successfully before AND it`s still in the garden ready to be picked.

I just love them all, each one is a surprise from below the ground or a jewel dripping from a bush, and to watch stuff growing on top of the soil and seeing it swell over the months is superb. I'm impressed with my celeriac this year but i do love to grow and harvest garlic.

Chillies! I have a 4 year old bonsai jalapeno which takes pride of place at the kitchen window sill. I also grow White Habaneros and can't wait for this years seed-stocking stuffers.
