This year so far I have been given, or found!:

    a spade
    a fork
    a hoe
    a rake
    various hand tools
    a hand cart
    a wheel barrow
    a pair of shears
three compost bins [two complete with compost and one straight out of a skip - yikes]
    a gooseberry plant
    an electric propagator
    a water butt
A fair bit of quality wood to provide netting supports [yes skip diving again]

What a year eh? How about that for a start to my new allotment?

The funny thing is that there is a 8 foot greenhouse abandoned at the allotment on the opposite plot, that no-one has gone for. What is the world coming to? But the plots are so small and watering would be such an issue with the greenhouse that it is a plot no-one wants to take on.

Hmm.. either the wheelbarrow (a big Chillington) or the gate through which I push it (had a low chickenwire fence as standard on my plot) or the bulk bags, topsoil and manure which I grew a lot of my stuff in this year (to kill off weeds under the mulch plastic.... or the powerspade (sproing...fling!)
      Aa freecycle or skipdiving.....

A skip full of scaffold planks. Built all of my raised beds and a floor in a spare bedroom.

And yesterday thanks to a friend, about 2 tons of well rotted horse manure, fully guaranteed to be free of any nasties

A free ancient cultivator, that I don't use anymore, but is too interesting to get rid of.

          Oh yes, flower buckets.

A neighbour who has a massive compost heap, I can take what I want.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

            Greenhouse here too

This year I've accumulated enough free seed online that I won't need to buy a lot of basics for quite a while.

              wow to all!

I've had a few things, have to say the best this year being the two free tomato plants I got from a guy giving a veg growing talk - nobody else wanted them! They have been very genorous in their produce.

A big plastic dustbin, loads of big pots and planters from my next door neighbour.
Pallets, timber, bricks and cardboard boxes from the lads at work. I haven't actually bought any of the stuff I've made my beds with at the plot. Spent a lot on netting and blue pipe though.

gotta be my shed at the top of the list then the scaffold planks that made up the 16 eight ft by 4 ft beds, closely followed by the vast quantities of fresh horse manure I had to rot down(around 15m3)

Two bags of pony poo every week, from the village postmistress. Its fresh though, so I'll have to stash it somewhere for 18 months or so before I use it.

A plastic chair, one given to each of the allotments by the landlord. A very welcome gift.

Loads of plants for the new garden, donated and grown by my MiL.

There's one more, but my minds gone blank...I'll be back.
