When looking at buying red onions in Wilkinson's, I wondered if all red onions are the same as shallots?

No, not at all./... red onions are onions and shallots are shallots though there are such things as red shallots.... they're still shallots.....

I grew LRF this eyar and am, quite happy.... I was mostly growing them for small onions (sow seed 5 -6 to a module in February and plant out in march/April.... got some decent onions there and more that I will picklye, they got precious little looking after so I'm happy with them (they taste OK too!) will be trying them again as a straight maincrop (2 per module) as wella s a buncher again....
Grown Red Baron from seed and set before adn always thought they were a bit small....

If anyone would like any Rose de Roscoff let me know. I cant promise, but I will be in the UK in October for a few days, and if I can find any (I dont live too far from Roscoff so shouldnt be too difficult) I will bring them across and then post them once on English soil.

Thanks for clearing that up, I did wonder if it was like spring onions which are also called scallions.

Sardines and pilchards are the same thing too.

Red Baron always does well for me. They've been variable ... some had white rot, some were gobstopper size, while others were between hen's egg and orange size
