Mystery Chilli plant

Hi there fellow Grapes,
As far as I know I planted Anaheim, Cayenne and Jalapeno chillies this year. According to the packets they all go from green to red so I am rather surprised that I have some plants with yellow chillies on them.
Anyone got any ideas what variety these might be?

I am no expert on chillies and can't tell one from another. However I do believe that some can go through several colour changes so I would not rule out the possibility of them turning red.

Ok,
Have googled it and it does look pretty close. I mentioned it to my friend and he reminded me that he'd given me some seeds. They didn't take very well as they were very old but a few did. He thought there might have been some banana chilli seeds in there but wasn't sure. Does anyone think these could be banana chillies.
I googled but to be honest from the pictures they seemed closer to the hungarian hot waxes to me

These are identical to mine this year and the seed packets of mine DID NOT say they would be yellow either! I've left some on the plant to see if they change colour and not one of them did - they went from yellow to rotted with no difference in colour at all!

I am stumped. They taste like a normal green pepper and I've just gone ahead and used them as such - no one has died yet so I'm guessing they must be fine!

Would like to know what they are though!

I'd have said the yellow version of Hot Wax too... They're not orange enough to be Habanero. I'd suggest gingerly tasting them.... Hot wax is pretty hot, not as hot as a Habanero but up there with Cayenne and Apache.... definitely not mild like an Anaheim.... If they are mild I'd suggest stuffing with cheese as a salady snack, if they're hottish just use as a normal chilli.... if you like them save some seed and I'll cheerfully swap you somethign for a few too :-)

I am confused.
The chillis in the picture are a daed ringer for Hungarian Hot Wax - very similar to those I have been growing this season. Taste-wise I have found them mild, just like a green pepper with a little fruity spice thrown in. So are they supposed to be hot or not?

I have googled them and some sites say medium hot whilst others say hot. Maybe it depends how ripe they are or how used to heat the taster is.
My friend can't remember what types he gave me so I have no idea if there was any hungarian hot wax in there but these are a dead ringer and started a pale yellowy green getting more yellow as they ripened.

Hot wax as a rule are not much hotter than a Jalapeno although you come across the odd batch that may just reach the heat of a Cayenne, Anaheim are only half as hot as a Jalapeno, at least according to the Scoville scale.

Yes we have found that the anaheim are very mild. They were free seeds so I gave them a go but don't think I'll bother with them again.

Not very hot, compared to habaneros and the like, but a tad hotter than cayennes.

I put one of my bolivians (tiny tiny one) in a lentil bake the other day and it was lovely and hot, but not buringly so (for me anyway) but too hot for my OH who wouldnt eat it (wuss! )

I'd say your one is more Jalapeno type-look at the shape.Colourwise-yes,it looks like Hungarian Yellow/Hot Wax.I have 2 HYW plants and peppers are more pointy at the end.

I tried to post a pic of my HYW,unfortunately either the computer or this forum"chooses" which pics am I allowed to post.
