  • I've just freecycled my courgettes !

I just can't bring myself to put them on the compost ... they've been so giving, so voluptuous ... I just can't waste them

LOL - I cooked down 10 of the buggers the other day and froze them for pasta sauces during the winter. I can't chuck em either

Good grief, the mere mention of putting any of my home-grown veg on the compost bring me out in a sweat. You can NEVER have too many curries! Or courgette cake, or chilli/courgette/tomato sauces...

Nope, me too - a few early in the year, then almost nothing - they keep producing male flowers but only a few fruit which tend to rot before they've grown enough... Very disappointing as the last 2 years worked so well! But I haven't watered them as much this year, so that might be an issue...

Me too - I put it down to the very dry season we have had. By default I don't water those beds, as they 'should' be able to take care of themselves.
Still, made some lovely courgette soup for the freezer.

Me three (or is that four), we've had about two courgettes off each of our four plants - that's pathetic!! They've had a healthy dose of chicken manure pellets, the ones at the lottie weren't watered, but the ones at home were, but it hasn't made the slightest bit of difference. Grrrr!! I dream of a courgette glut!!

However, that's inspired of you TS, did you make it a rhyming advert, and will you only give them up to poetic responses al la Ollie?

                          I know.
But both freezers are full of sweetcorn, broad beans, shelly beans, berries and there's even a bag of sprouts in there somewhere too

That's a great idea Two Sheds, better than letting them go to waste. It did make me think of Joe Swift on Gardeners' World the other week when he was going round the allotments offering to swap his courgettes for other peoples produce, they all accepted them but I think it was a bit reluctantly & only because they were on TV.

I'm the same but my one marrow plant has given us 20 marrows.
