  • Strong wind warning in East mids.

    By 'eck that's breezy!!
Glad I have a day off today, the door has just blown off my polycarbonage GH.
I'm assuming the window blew open a bit and the door hit my house with a resounding crash.
Fortunately still in one piece, so it's now back together and the window taped shut.

It's a tad gusty here too. Sad that, as we have just had the stuff delivered to roof over the run - the poor chickies are out in the wind and rain. They have some shelter but not the brains to do much about it!

Bit blowy down south to. The plastic fencing that I've rigged up to let my ladies have an extended wander has just gone for a burton- was a bit scared as to what I might find but they are fine, happily scratching around in the veg. plot. Just got there in the nick of time and saved the cabbages.

This isn't just blowy - it is incessant - tree branches at horizontal level - windows rattling - sunflowers blown right over - ducks too scared to come out - people losing their hats - windy pops.

It is ridiculous - and I've been in Florida with hurricanes - this is really getting quite silly!

The whole frame has collapsed. I already had it roped. but it's twisted the metal this time.
Not sure how I'm going to rescue them but will involve OH and have to wait till after school now.

I've actually stopped asking Mr Z what the weather forecast is for the next day...i'm asking what the wind speed is forecast to be.

Very sad but it is horrid, I suppose because I am here working at home rather than being in an office, it is more visible to me. The willow I can see from my desk here doesn't help.

Hope it dies down before tomorrow as I'm having a trip that way in the morning. Off to Shipley with the OH to get some craft stuff. Then on to Lincolnshire to see the MIL and finally back home, all in a day.

I am in much the same position also working from home with a willow tree outside the window...
