        help needed

        not sure if they are squash or pumpkin got the seeds for free on seed swap
        help needed if squash how big do i let them grow to

                wow that is a good size duranal,why cannot i grow some that big,i think red cabage has a better taste than the green

                    OK, I finally got round to measuring it (OH had stolen my tape measure and denied having it, but it 'turned up' in his transit, hmmm!). Anyhoo, here it is. It's a whopper, for a Cobnut!

                        Now then I've got a big one, Its has a 22" girth, so it's big enough to satisfy the biggest of appetites, and he's still growing.. OOOW ERR MRS......Norty Step anyone? WOW, the party's still going, I'll have a refill please.

                              Oooh err that's a big one gn! But you've only got one? Ours is 17.5", but we've got a pair of smaller ones...which is better?!

                                sorry for not answering sooner quark1,it is a butternut,it has now gone the butternut colour,he buys a supermarket 1 every year just for the seeds,this year he got a load of part composted leaves,compete with tiny worms,this was spread out all around the plants,the council come in the autumn and put them where we can all help ourselves,and wood chip for the paths ,
