Leggy Seedlings...

really basic question sorry.

When seedlings are leggy is this because of not enough light or heat etc. Can the seedling be saved or just fed to the rabbit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just depends on what the seedlings are , if they are brassica's you can plant them a bit deeper when you pot on or even when you plant out.

Same with Tomatoes.

Lack of heat wont cause it Bex, too much will draw them as will lack of light

It was lettuce, supposed to be able to grow them all year round under glass but they are about 2 inches tall with too tiny leaves at the top.

When transplanting, plant them up to the first leaves and they should be fine.

Worked fine for me a couple of weeks ago and have some pretty healthy looking small plants coming on now. Used to get stressed about my seedlings looking leggy but have found out over the years that they can often recover.
