Onion sets from last year

I've got a bag of onion sets (can't recall if they're spring, or autumn) hanging in my shed.

Last time I looked, they seemed ok - no shoots coming out, and not too wrinky.

Will they be ok to plant do you think, and should I plant them now.

Nothing to lose I guess.

Why don't you put them in a seed tray with some compost in, see if they root and shoot?

Yes, you did. Get 'em in.

try cell trays or small pots,that way you can get them a start under your control,the ones that grow can then be planted without loosing space on the lottie,i did this with some of mine,and will do so next year,here is a pic,they made lots of roots,and cought up with mt earler planted ones,
