  • new year new challenge

    hi everyone!
I'm new to growing my own. bought an old bit of land near my home. Which had not been used for 16 years! Needed to clear tons of dumped rubbish and lots of brambles. Now after 8 months im ready to get going. It has been great fun and now im looking for lots of tips and advice to get me started. All contributions greatly received.

The trespasser is my hardest worker! The land is cleared now and looking good. Found some great fruit trees. An old bramley apple, and a couple of pears but not sure what they are!

Weve had loads of skips, two grabber lorries, several trips to the tip to recycle what we could and also called on friends who had a mini digger and a little old man with a small tractor and plough. He's coming back this weekend to deliver me some chicken muck as he breeds chickens! Got some useful friends- jus need green fingers now!

Looks great Vicki, can see how much has been done there. Don't worry about the green fingers. You're well on your way to them. The more you learn and the more you work, the greener your fingers get. Enjoy the fruits of your labour.
