  • Kind of late I know.... but....

    Hi all,
Just finished my first year growing veggies and it has been quite successful We are still picking Toms and I have potatoes in for Christmas. As the greenhouses empty, is there anything I can put in them during the winter? I have large tubs to grow in so depth of soil is not a problem. I am taking cuttings of Fuschia and Busy Lizzies etc but I would be happy for any suggestions.

    Thanks

You could try some salad leaves in tubs? I've just put a plastic washbasin in my mini greenhouse filled with compost and a scattering of oriental veg seeds. They were only cheap ones from the Wyevale sale, so am not going to be too heartbroken if they come to nothing. It's my first season of growing as well, and I figured, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'll see how it goes and make notes for next year.

I don't think its too late to pop some cabbage, kale, cauliflower seed in, there's always broad beans you could pop some in to over winter, nice early crop next spring. Experiment its all part of the fun. xx
