Pigletwillies Banana Shallot Seed update

I sowed mine ono lst Jan and they were just starting to peep through on 9th Jan.

Hi Pigletwillie, I received my seeds this morning and will be sowing them this weekend in modules on the windowsills. Will do as you ask and keep you informed of my progress with them. Thanks again

I planted mine on 10th Jan and they're germinating well. Not all at the same time but some weel greened up and some just coming.

Just potted 60 seeds in my propargator is this a mistake should I have just planted on window or pollytunnel.

No thats fine, just remember to take the lid off when they come through and take them out completely when they are and inch or so high to prevent them growing too quickly and becoming soft and leggy.

Sob, sob, no sign of ours yet (planted on 13th) should we worry yet? They're on the unheated utility room's windowsill.

Give them time if its quite cool. You can always bring them into the heated part of the house until they show!

They arrived safely here too in Shropshire and have germinated well. Transplanted them today. Second sowing in the propogator. Thankyou Piglet.

I'm reckoning on him winning The Lottery this side of Infinity, and I reckon any of us having a share of the Banana Shallot Seeds are in with 'A Chance'..!

Gorgeous day here today so the banana shallots are out in a cold frame for their first airing. Billed to be cold tonight though, so getting to get them back in for the night.

Just taken off the lid from the propagator today but forcast is for frost tonight so I will recover them and remove again tomorrow and keep doing that til the frosts give way to warmer weather again

First shoots through today, planted 12/1. I'm much happier now they are under glass, they seem to be doing well.
