I went to " pull " up a parnip for my mum today, ended up having to dig it up, and along with it came 3 more!! i won't be here for the next week so was wondering can i freeze the remaining 3 as they are or do i have to blanche first?

No idea about the freezing as I always like to use them straight from the soil.
Supposedly they are better after a bit of frost............so a freezer being an extreme form of frost should improve them!

A friend told me that when her grandad wanted to prepare the groung for the next year's peas and beans, he would pull them up and leave them on the ground for the frost to get at.
Obviously no pigeons or mice around there!
