Sowing Broad Beans between my Sprouts.

Do you think it would be ok to sow my overwintering Broad Beans in between my Brussel Sprouts or do you think it would be a problem with the Sprouts shading out the Beans?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Well you won't be able to pull up the sprouts when they're done - cut them to ground level instead.

And to stop them fighting for nutrients it would be wise to add a thick layer of compost or another mulch after planting the beans - which would benefit the sprouts as earthing them up helps prevent wind rock.

I don't see any major problems - give it a go and report back in the spring!

Providing the nutrient balance is OK., it could well work out. Normally, sprouts follow BB's on a plot. See what the other grapes think.

I got sick of waiting for my garlic tops to die off so planted cabbages in between them. Now they've died off I've got no idea where they are and can't have any exploratory digs because of the flaming cabbages!
