Exactly - so when we have a good year and choose the biggest cloves; and then fail we think it might be us when actually.......it isn't!!!

I just weeded my patch today and they have really sprouted well so fingers crossed! (I can always fleece if it gets really cold) Earlier this year I found some single tiny cloves - pink skinned growing from some left in by mistake over the winter - planted those up and they made big fat single clove bulbs - they were the best!
Thanks everyone - I've decided to put some cloves in now and leave some until nearer the Winter Solstice as Zazen did last year. They have two chances I suppose!
