Facing Heaven?

I was watching Market Kitchen this evening and they mentioned a Szechuan Chilli called "Facing Heaven". I'm intrigued by the name and assume they are an upright pepper. Anyone else ever heard of them, grown them, used them?

I did Google it and found the same things as you Jilly, but although the company sells sauces and other stuff I couldn't find any seeds for sale on there.

If you do grow them SBP would you be up for a swap next year?

Hi Hotstuff, I shall decide what I'm going to grow in 2010 around Jan/Feb time. I swapped them with someone off ChilliesGalore forum cos I liked the name of the chilli! I have also swapped some of the seeds with some Grapes but can't think who...if you can't find any get back to me next year (that sounds ages doesn't it!) I might not grow them and you could have them. Gawd knows how many varieties of chilli seeds I have to choose from!

Manda, like you I'm intrigued by the name. I've done a bit more Googling and found 2 possible suppliers, one in Brighton (Fiery Foods) and the other a Chinese shop up in London, but neither let you order seeds over the 'net

Okay I've just looked thru the (somewhat) vast quantities of chilli seeds I have...shall I send you two seeds & I'll have a go with one and if you get fruit you could save me some seeds?

If you think yes, then is there owt else you want - pm me - it seems silly to swap for 2 seeds!

Okay HS, I think I'll try them this year (space permitting) but I've just seen these (which I have)

Chile pepper database - Aji Norteno - (Capsicum baccatum)

on a search for Facing Heaven and I've not tried them yet either...(or lots others!) Will be interested to know how yours go though as they sound quite interesting.

Edit - or as they are fresh chillies if you could post on here what your thoughts on their taste are it might help me make up my mind whether to grow them or not.

OK, order made, so hopefully they should be here sometime next week. Now I'm up to 22 different varieties to grow next year, stilll a lot less than some of the Chilli-Heads on here. Will post back on this thread once I've tried one.
