Broad Beans - Too tall already!!

Can anyone advise me , my broad beans I planted at the end of October are over a foot high and bending in the wind. Any advice would be gratefully received or should I just leave them in and see if they survive the rest of the winter? Thanks.

Mine did similar and I lost some because I was too lazy to stake them. They just need some 2-3' canes pushing in next too them and tying to them, all will then be happiness and light in the bean bed.

If the wind hasn't flattenned them by now I would stake them. Put post at each end of the row and run a length of string the length of the row on both sides. If they are a tall variety they would need staking at some time before they crop, if they are a shorter variety it will not hurt them to suport them in some way.

Mine have grown like mad aswell, I have tied them to a bamboo stick and they seem fine - they did turn a little black due to the frost.

Thanks for the advise, I have just logged back on after a while and it was nice to get some replies to my first thread. I have staked them and they seem to be holding up!
