D'asti Caillo Pepper from Kings seeds - anyone grown this?

Good afternoon all

Just managed to pop on in a quiet moment (very rare these days lol!) to ask if anyone has grown this pepper before and how they found its taste? The reason for the question is that we have found it extremely HOT!!!! even though the packet says (and indeed the nice man from Kings has also assured me) that is has a sweet mild flavour. We just assumed that it may have cross pollinated with one of the chillis but Kings disagree. I will be sending them a sample one in the post so they may find otherwise but in the meantime I wondered if anyone else had come accross this. By the way (before you ask/tease)- its not my puny taste buds - Mr D agrees too!!!!

Sorry there, I haven't grown that kind before. Chillies are pretty darn promiscious though, so you might have a neat hybrid. If the heat it just too intense to be of any use, try drying them (I just thread them onto a bit of fine yarn and leave them hanging somewhere) then when they've gone crunchy, bash them up in a bag to make chilli flakes. Get some good olive oil and let it infuse for a month or so. A lot of the flavor comes through that way, and it's easier to measure out the heat.

Thanks for the neat idea. I think Mr Dandy is enjoying them though so may not get a look in! We are pretty sure its a result of cross pollination too - will await Kings comments with interest!

I only grew chillies once and this happened to me !
I grew 4 varieties 3 mild and one hot !
Come harvest time they were all hot except the hot one which was quite mild. Thought it might have been a seed tray mix up but was told this can happen.
You can't control everything hi hi hi.

It's a yellow sweet bell pepper - is that what it looked like Tammy?
