Ok this is WAR

I just want to let other Grapes know just how mean and twisted SR actually is. MrH in a fit of helpfulness filled my lovely herb pottager with garishly coloured begonias. (yes I know they are lovely plants etc etc but NOT in my herb bed) I have waited patiently for the frosts to kill off the flaming things.

What does Selfraising do? She goes on a mission to find really hardy begonias!

Asparagus

And so (or should it be sow) it continues.

Without warning me, our lass has brought home a bag of soil and somewhere in there is the makings of an asparagus crop.

Now I read in a magazine that you don't get to eat a lot of your crop until year three, so I thought I'd better get it planted now.



Bearing in mind I'm moving home in late Feb, what would you recommend I do with it?

Oh dear Ringo, That's a tricky one. Asparagus needs a permanent bed and doesn't do well in pots, or so I read. At least that's the case for crowns. I think you need to find a friend who wants them..... sorry

That's fine. My future BiL has offered me a raised bed and a greenhouse on his allotment, which is in the area that I am moving to. I'll get him to plant them there and I'll set a reminder for three years time to eat them
