  • Water Spinach (morning glory)

I don't suppose anyone has grown water spinach in the UK?

I'm under the impression that it needs to grow in very moist soil, and possibly in a warm climate but thought I'd ask just in case someone on here has had success with it

Where to get water spinach seeds? I love the stuff; eat it every day when in Viet Nam. Having seen it grow there, I guess it's like water cress, but without a need for running water. The best bunches I saw were grown in small stagnant canals near Can Tho in the Mekong Delta. It just loves silt and damp.

I grew some the year before last, I think the seed was from Suffolk Herbs. I didn't sow til mid may, started them in gentle heat and grew them on in the border soil in a polytunnel. Easy to grow, just not as fast as if they were somewhere warm, ooh and keep well watered.

Thanks for the link. That only cost me around £25 but I got me some Ong Choy, so it's all good!
