What do I do with a "Semi determinate" Tom?

I have a packet of Roma VF seeds described as Semi determinate and the advice is Trim when the bush gets too big. Not massively helpful really.
Will it produce a good crop if I grow it as a cordon?

I grew mine as a bush last year but they do grow to about 4ft so I still needed to put some support in. Not sure if you can grow as cordon tho. You could experiment and grow one as a bush and one as a cordon. I'd be interested to know the results!

My Dad took it upon himself to remove all the 'armpits' from mine, after being told they didn't need it . Luckily they still grew and fruited well. I even won a class in the Veggie competition on here with three of them.

Beautiful-looking toms, but slow to ripen and not much flavour, I found. Not complaining though, because the seeds were free!

I grew a variety of Roma last year,cant remember if it was vf or not. I grew it as a bush but didn't get many from it, they were far better cooked than in a salad. the bush was best described as "Vigorous" as it took over half the 6x6 GH

What do I do with a "Semi determinate" Tom?

I grew about 6 Roma plants last year, also from free seeds. Some were in the plastic GH and the rest grew outside. The o/s ones were nearly 5' tall with loads of branches. Most of them needed 3 or 4 canes to support, and they were all grown in Morrisons flower buckets. I used the for making tomato soup as they are too tough for eating fresh. I still have some seeds left - if I can find them - so I hope to grow another 1/2 a dozen.
