Just don't sprout the larger beans, because of lectin poisoning.

Anyboy recommend a sprouter or "posh boxes"? Like the idea of being able to stack them so you have continuous supply for minimum space...

I have some green split lentils bought for eating. Can I sprout them with out getting poisoned and will it work?

Split lentils or split peas won't sprout because they are split
Whole lentils, green, brown, black or blonde should all sprout and are much cheaper than packets of 'sprouting seeds'
Lentils and peas should all be fine to eat - as far as I know its only the larger beans like kidney beans which have high levels of toxins. Smaller beans like moong or aduki/adzuki are fine.

I've just got some marrowfat peas to sprout ( really cheap! ) Has anyone used these? I know the pea-sprouts are good but does anyone eat the whole thing, peas and all?
