  • first red cabbage

Well the snow has gone, and the rain has ensure that all the crops left are available again, so today I have managed to dig some chrsitmas parnsips (better late than never) and some J As - ditto- and the first of the red cabbage. It has hearted up beautifully and this is what saved it from the frost and snow I think. Once I peeled a few mushy layers off it's a real beaut!

Cheered me up no end, but don't tell OH as I was banned from digging anything up today cos of my back. I'll have to pass them off as tesco's! PMSL

I've not had as much luck up here in Cumbria! The last of the snow has only just gone and it has completely destroyed everything. The allotment had snow on it for over 4 weeks so I suppose we couldn't expect anything to have survived.

I've just been up and had a look round. I managed to get enough veg for 2 nights of stir fry ( I cut red & green cabbage & pulled mooli as well as what you see)
