I am wanting to make some raised beds in my garden and am thinking of making them out of old scaffolding boards, however i am having trouble finding some locally. does anyone know of anywhere that i can get some in the norwich/norfolk area?
I got the boards from a scaffolding company for £2 each, they sometimes need to get shut as the ends get too damaged to use,(H&S stuff). Just ring around the local firms and ask if they have any going. I found my supply on ebay so worth a look there too.
Bear in mind they are very heavy if 20 are put on the roofrack in one go surprised I wasn't stopped by plod for an overloaded car and bent roofrack !!!
If you do manage to get some scaffolding planks you should treat them as they soon break up with the moist soil. Try checking local demolition firms who often sell reclaimed timber ready treated.

I used ply wood for mine but left enough space around them so I could go round them again with better quality and longer lasting timber when I can afford it !
I am sorry I can't post photographs on here but you are welcome to view them on my websit listed below.
Good Luck

These are what I put together last year from old fence panels.
