On my outdoor plantings and sowings for 2010 today!

Managed to rake and sow an area of parsnips. Planted out my shallots in various clumps. Sowed some broad beans outside and some inside in a big pot and others in modules. Have some spring cabbage in modules that didn't get planted out in the autumn so they will be next.
This weekend is tattie weekend for planting in greenhouse. Onions and leeklets are of a size to plant out but its a wee bit cold yet.
Must remember to keep up the sowings of the tender stuff indoors

You put us to shame.
Got some onions, cauli's , toms and aubs inside but not planted outside yet. Keep thinking it's a tad too cold .
Mind you My spring cabbage and garlic are out and they seem to be doing well.

I've got broadies which should be in but until the 'oh my gosh it's gonna snow' threats are all over, they're staying in the greenhouse.

Sowed more and some mange touts last week, they are all up now so going into the greenhouse tomorrow.

And I'll get some more onions and toms and peppers sown tomorrow I think. Or over the weekend at least.

No "gonna" about it here, it did snow today, with more predicted for tomorrow. Mind you, that was the Met Office - so there's hope!

Just arrived home from sunnier climes ( I heard you had snow )
Got stuck into my sowing programme...Toms,Peppers,Beans were sown before I had emptied my suitcase. Hows that for dedication.

I've still got some Cavalo Nero in modules that didn't get put out. I see you are putting out last year's sowings Snadger. I did wonder if they would go straight to seed (not passing go or collecting £200!) having had a growth check? Still, I'm up for trying it!

I thought mange tout (or Rodneys as they are known in this house) were tender? You going to grow them on in the greenhouse or plant out?

If you have plenty of room Flum they will still make good chook fodder whatever they do!

Certainly they will - but I don't like wasting cav nero on the chooks, my personal favourite greens I think!

They will go out once the frost date is passed, but will stay in t'greenhouse for a while yet.

They might well be flowering by then though I'll just pop them on the north side of a bed in a block, surround with 4 canes and tie string round to keep them up.

Oh I feel a bit left behind, now! I have just got back from Wilkos and picked up some seed spuds (just Roosters and Aran Pilot for now) and Victoria rhubarb. Time to get going, this weekend, methinks! Stop this hibernation malarky.
