Don't think we should feel left behind. Some people, (mentioning no names but you KNOW who you are) just get bored and can't wait, thus scaring the life out of the rest of us

eta: not Snadger of course as he is a guru and fount of all knowledge

Or possibly I am..........there's 3 inches of snow over the seedbed keeping them warm just now!
I always find parsnips take forever to come up and hopefully will germinate when the soil is warm enough!

Isn't there a risk that they'll just rot instead?

Yes, more than likely I'd have thought but he is only sowing a small area so can resow if nothing comes up. I didn't sow mine until early April last year and got a good crop off them from a direct sowing but will try and do it in March this year as I originally intended last year

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Possibly,............... but they only need 2 deg C to germinate. Have loads of seed left so if they fail I'll just sow some more!

I have pak choi seedlings in modules that now have their 3rd set of leaves on them, and onions at the grass stage. My leeks in pots are just starting to come through and today i sowed my gorgeous, dark "Beaujolais" sweet pea seeds. February will be quite busy with sowings of tomato's an summer brassica's into modules, so i like to get some done in January to ease the crush a bit.
