Frozen chilli seeds

I froze some whole chillies earlier in the year, will those seeds still be growable?

I'm sure they will, but just wanted to check.

I dont know if they are viable, but if you tell me what variety they are and I have some in my seed box I can pop some in with the tomato seeds I am sending you this weekend.

I have some other non frozen ones as well, I'll just give you some of each. Just the frozen ones could be particularly good seeds.

Okay I'm going to butt in Are you talking about Gelbe Kirschen chilli? and if so do you need non-frozen ones? How do you get frozen chilli seeds?

Stick em in the freezer of course!

No I've got plenty of seeds that are non frozen thanks, but I had a huge one from the freezer yesterday and it was really hot, so I wanted to use the seeds from that, for me and to send to Jilly, funnily enough

One way of storing seeds is by freezing. Generally though, they are well dried out first! Try one or two and see what happens. It's possible that the moisture in the seed will break up the cell sturcture though.

I think Flummery has a point, they probably needed to be dried first, fingers crossed though. What about seeing if the seeds float?
