hi folks,i have the advantage of an old veg patch with top soil that goes down over 3 ft, it is black sandy loam and the parsnips are one of the great successes,i tried them 2 years ago with little to harvest but i changed my seed brand and last year we had a bumper crop with more than a dozen reaching the subsoil ,OH says to enter veg show, but have seen some of the sniping going on when i went to have a look,i cant be doing with that,when i started i was helped by an elder gardener, a lovely old gent.(cook the biggies slower at a lower heat to get the best out of them..advice from OH)i was told not to feed the soil and move their location around each year..im just hoping for more of the same this year as they are going from the freezer quite fast.are there any that are better tasting than others?are some better keepers in the ground? what ones do you experts recommend?

I'm going to grow both of these. I just follow the advice that I received on here. I place the seeds on some damp kitchen paper and then when they germinate I plant then out.Susiewoosie
