Tomato Roots

Hi

Does anyone know how deep tomato roots go? I am just about to dig my Greenhouse borders for this years Tomato crop and was wondering how deep to dig to give them the best root conditions?

I also have a large quantity of farmyard manure in storage can you give them too much?

My tomatoes fill a 12" high pot.

You'd need to dig a little deeper than that, to loosen the soil underneath them.
Make sure your FYM is well rotted
