During the past few months I have as per usual been saving seed from all tasty bought toms/chillis/squash etc. As per usual I was always quite sure I would know which was which when sowing time came. I am now looking at several pieces of kitchen paper resplendant with their treasures and some ominous looking little pots with fungus floating on top. I think I know the difference tween a tomato and a squash seed but not too sure which are the Padron pepper. Is it too early to try starting some and will I be able to tell the difference from first leaves.

The pepper will be flatter and not hairly - the toms flat and hairy. The squash much bigger. Hope that helps!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

J have 6 seedlings growing away which I have no idea what they are going to be. I even have a sneaky feeling 1 is a weed. Oh well perhaps it will make it even more of a surprise.
