Booo! Where are my chilli shoots?

I've planted up (yes "up") 6 pots each of different chilli seeds. Each with 2 seeds in with the intention of only keeping the stronger of the two.
Now I know that germination rates are never 100%, but not one of the chillies is showing any signs of life and I potted them up a good 2 weeks ago. My tomato seeds are doing fine by comparison in much the same conditions (although smaller modules).

I wondered if it was a temperature issue (despite being indoors) so I put one of the pots on the radiator, but still nothing.

Besides playing pipe music and talking softly to them, is there anything I should be doing or am I just being impatient?

maybe the problem is that you potted them 'up' - I'd have sown them in compost, that'd work

The latter, Ollie. Chillies can take a lot longer than tomatoes.

Perhaps the problem is just generally uneccasary use of directions such as 'reversing backwards' whilst 'lifting up' and 'sitting down'!

I'll just hang on then. But it's too EXCITING!

I find that chillies take forever if they're not in a heated propogator, they will come eventually (well probably anyway!) but I'm too impatient and like to see them within a couple of weeks.

No, I think I did them the wrong way 'down'!

All my chillies came up within a week in the heated prop... I was REALLY shocked.

My toms, however - nah.

Some of my chillies came up pretty quickly but some of them have taken over 5 weeks and only started popping up as I was about to give up on them.
Don't give up on them Ollie, I'm sure they'll put in an appearance soon.

My popped in a week in the airing cupboard. I was worried it was going to be too hot in there.

I've had them arrive after 3 weeks. Usually a couple though - and that's in an unheated poly bag!

Mine are showing signs after 2 weeks on the shelf directly above the radiator (very warm indeed!) but they can take quite a few weeks to germinate.
(you can always have a little look....)
