It makes you wonder how long it takes for the labels to biodegrade doesn't it??

Glad you're sorted Piskie- I would have suggested trying Barkeepers Friend - I've yet to find something it doesn't remove from hard surfaces! ( think it's powdered rhubarb )

Would vinegar help? Leave the labels in some vinegar for a bit - I seem to remember using vinegar when drawing with marker pens in CDT at high school.

I use a soft pencil - it's good for the whole season. Then I brillo the label and use it again. Nowt wrong with being tight lass!

Me too, it makes it easier if you leave them to soak in a jar of soapy water for a couple of days too. Only replace when I've broken too many and have run out.

Nail polish remover should get rid of permanent marker. I have plastic labels that I use a pencil on and then just use an eraser to remove the writing.

i use plastic labels with pencil atm. But next year i was thinking of using wooden ones and just give them a quick lick of white paint each year.

If its permenant marker on plastic labels hairspray works wonders...dunno how orwhy but it does

I just use a standard HB and a standard eraser. The writing stays on there until I erase it off. I thought this is what everyone used? They often sell packs of labels with a pencil included
