I grew cayenne, pretty in purple(read seeds) and anaheim. All were productive in our conservatory and in my brothers kitchen (has full length door/windows). My SIL doesn't want any this year and she doesn't like spicy food and says they make a sticky mess.
They all took a while to get going and we did give them a little shake every day and a few times used a little paintbrush to help with the pollination - but not sure if we really needed to do that.Elsie -

Our cheyenne did well last year, and that was my first year trying, so hopefully this year I'll know what to do and when to do it to increase yield!Comment

In pots - either Cheyenne or Apache are a good bet
In open ground or growbags (in tunnel or greenhouse) - Jalapeno or Cayenne - both grow to about 1m high and both are prolific fruiters.Rat

cayenne last year for me too they did well and are pretty hot but, im going for the hot stuff this year ive gone for the naga/bhut jolka rated over 1 million scoviles. the loo rolls in the fridge!The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Another vote for Apache here if you want something that's easy to grow and prolific fruiter. Mine also over-wintered well and produced an even better crop in their 2nd year, last summer. They're still alive and I'm hoping for another good crop this year.

Another vote for Cayenne from me! If I could only grow one variety it would be Cayenne - Fairly hot, prolific, easy to grow and mine overwintered well and produced literally hundreds of Chillis in year 2.Comment

yer cayenne mine germinated in 5 days, heated prop, 6 seeds got 6 plants, good luck.Comment
