  • Garlic feeding question.

My garlic which went in the ground at the end of November if doing really well at the moment, of the 44 cloves planted 43 started showing signs of sprouting towards the middle of December and indeed the shoots now range in size from between 4 and 7 inches tall. The 44th showed no sign of anything but I was happy with the germination rate as was. Lo and behold though I've now got a shoot on the 44th, only about an inch in length so far but I'm sure it will catch up 100% germination rate on my garlic, well pleased.

The bed it is in had a liberal sprinkling of chicken manure pellets incorporated into the soil about a month before planting but what should I use as a continual feed for the garlic and when should I start applying it?.
It was dark. And cold. And very, very empty.

And in the middle of all of the dark, cold, emptiness lay something darker, and colder, but very, very full.

I don't feed mine at all. I don't know anyone who does, they just grow.

Garlic don't really need feed if they are in open ground. I give the ones in troughs a bit of onion fertiliser in the spring.

Just feed them with love and they'll be happy! :-)
