Do any of you grow perpetual cabbage and leeks? I've just ordered some small plants.

When I harvest my leeks, I don't dig them up but slice them an inch below the soil. They regrow.
I don't know how many times you can do this, I usually have to dig them all up to put something else in.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

I think Zazens trying a perpetual leek bed, simply by lopping the tops off all the time.
I've grown perpetual cauliflowers (9 star perennial) and walking stick kale which lasts a couple of years, but I wasn't aware there was a perpetual cabbage?
I DO cut a cross in the top of my cabbage stems to promote a second crop though! My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

I've grown the 9 star perennial cauliflower - makes a huge plant and produces one large head followed by perhaps half a dozen medium heads. You have to make sure to remove all the flowers to get through to another year. I found it only lasted 2 or 3 years and the flavour was a bit strong so didn't bother again.
As mentioned leeks are actually perennials, I keep a few in a corner for the beautiful flowers. They will produce maybe half a dozen shoots which can be pulled off and used but they won't be as big or as long as first year leeks
There's also Welsh onions and Tree Onions but are they worth the space?
