beans in raised beds...

I've sectioned off my plot into four beds five foot wide running north to south.

I intend to plant multiple rows of climbing french beans. Any idea as to the best way to support them? I had a wigwam last year, but only one so shading wasn't a problem.

I tend to have a permanent frame made out of scaffolding poles and tie in canes to them as requires, the years that beans are not grown in that bed, with no canes its not in the way. I have also made a squar out of canes so the tops are not all bunched up, that works well.

canes and next doors fence always worked for me. I do give her some beans for her fences support throught the growing process

My local pick your own grows beans in rows side by side with only just enough room to walk between, planted north -south and they usually have really good crops. They don't seem to worry about shade.

I grew mine very close together in beds last year. I thought too close initially but the crop was great so it must have been ok. I used canes and bean netting.
