Sowing In A Plastic Greenhouse

I have erected a new walk in PVC greenhouse at home (i.e. not heated).

Can I now start to sow stuff like sprouts, leeks, cabbages and lettuce out there? I realise that with the cooler temperatures it will probably take longer for germination to occur.......but will they get there?

Should be no problem at all with those.

If you want them to germinate faster, keep them inside til you see the first signs of sprouting then pop them out.

sprouts, leeks, cabbages and lettuce

the minimum germination temps for those are between 2 and 4C

(however, they will take longer than if you germinate them indoors, but you must move them outside as soon as they show)

I have one of those. I have started my toms, lettuce, peppers, basil, parsley and about to start a few more things. I live right on the coast so its a bit warmer, I also use a propagator type piece of kit that I found in a skip! Best thing I have bought in a long time.

Get them all sown now in your greenhouse.You could cover them with fleece to keep a bit of warmth in, or use one of those seed trays with a see-thro plastic top till they germinate.
My window ledge is full of tomato seedlings and just sown peppers, which will go out into the cold frame at the begining of May..but again, I'll put garden fleece over them if it's cold
